ATM Replacement Project Updates

The Severna Park ATM will be Removed on November 5, 2024

September 25, 2024

Important Information About Our Severna Park Branch ATM at:

534 Ritchie Hwy
Severna Park, Md. 21146

Dear Valued Customer,

We want to provide you with an update regarding the final stage of our ATM replacement project. In early 2023, our Branch Administration Team conducted a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of our ATMs as part of an ATM replacement project. This evaluation included an in-depth analysis of customer usage across all Bank of Glen Burnie ATM locations. As we continue to invest in new technology, we felt it was important to carefully consider both, how our customers currently use our ATMs, and also anticipate future usage trends.

The results of this evaluation led to the installation of new ATMs at five branch locations, and earlier this year we completed the installation process for these ATMs. We will now begin the process of removing ATMs from locations with ATMs that will not be replaced. The Severna Park ATM is currently scheduled for removal on November 5, 2024.  As a reminder, The Bank of Glen Burnie is a member of the MoneyPass® network, allowing customers surcharge-free access to thousands of ATMs across the U.S. and several are conveniently located very close to our branches.

Our commitment to meeting our customers’ financial needs is unwavering. We assure you that we will continue to meet your unique banking needs with the same level of outstanding, customer-centered service that you are accustomed to.

We truly apologize for any inconvenience you experience, and hope you know that we value your business. Questions can be directed to the Severna Park Office at 410-544-0270, or you may dial our switchboard at 410-766-3300 to be directed to any Branch Manager.

We sincerely thank you for trusting us with your banking relationship and we look forward to serving your banking needs for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Donna Smith

Senior Vice President
Director of Branch and Deposit Operations

The Linthicum ATM will be Removed on November 7, 2024

As previously communicated in June of 2023, the Linthicum ATM is slated to cease operations and be removed in 2024 as part of our bank-wide ATM replacement project. The Linthicum ATM is currently scheduled for removal on November 7, 2024. As a reminder, The Bank of Glen Burnie is a member of the MoneyPass® network, allowing customers surcharge-free access to thousands of ATMs across the U.S. and several are conveniently located very close to our branches.

We also want to alert you to an important change taking place at The Bank of Glen Burnie. After much consideration, The Bank of Glen Burnie has made the difficult decision to permanently close our branch location in Linthicum, located at 7063 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. This branch office will close on January 25, 2025.

Glen Burnie Branch ATM to be Replaced on 8/1/23

A new ATM is coming to the Glen Burnie Branch on the morning of August 1, 2023.  During the installation process, the ATM at our Glen Burnie location will not be in service. Customers can use ATMs at our other branch locations or ATMs in the MoneyPass® network. Glen Burnie branch staff can also assist customers in the branch lobby or via the drive-through. Effective August 1, 2023, All BofGB ATMs Will No Longer Take Deposits

During the past several months our Branch Administration Team has been conducting a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of our ATMs in preparation for a planned ATM replacement project. This evaluation included an in-depth analysis of customer usage across all Bank of Glen Burnie ATM locations.  As we continue to invest in new technology, we felt it was important to carefully consider both, how our customers currently use our ATMs, and also anticipate future usage trends.

With check usage at an all-time low and continuing to rapidly decline, we found it makes sense to discontinue acceptance of ATM deposits at all ATM locations effective August 1, 2023.  Most of our customers no longer make deposits using our ATM network and have steadily adopted our online and mobile banking products that enable remote deposits 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Retail banking customers can make check deposits through our Personal Mobile Banking App and our Remote Deposit Capture product is available to our business customers.

We are confident that our customers will find these deposit options convenient and easy to use.  Our branch managers and staff stand ready to assist customers with questions and are more than happy to help customers explore their remote deposit options.  Customers will continue to have access to our Night Depository Boxes, located adjacent to our ATMs, for making after-hour deposits.

In the coming weeks, The Bank of Glen Burnie will begin this ATM replacement project at five of our branch locations:

  • Glen Burnie (101 Crain Hwy SE, Glen Burnie MD, 21061)
  • Riviera Beach (8707 Ft Smallwood Rd, Pasadena, MD 21122)
  • Crownsville (1221 Generals Hwy, Crownsville, MD 21032)
  • Severn (811 Reece Rd, Severn, MD 21144)
  • New Cut (740 Stevenson Rd, Severn, MD 21144)

We will also replace our ATM at Angel’s Food Market located at 4681 Mountain Road in Pasadena.

We anticipate that the installation of the new ATMs will begin on August 1, 2023 and run through January 2024. ATMs at our Severna Park, Odenton, and Linthicum branches will not be replaced, and these ATMs will cease operations and be removed by the end of the second quarter of 2024.  As a reminder, The Bank of Glen Burnie is a member of the MoneyPass® network, allowing customers surcharge-free access to thousands of ATMs across the U.S. and several are conveniently located very close to our branches.

Please visit our website during the ATM replacement project for the latest information. Customers can also use our ATM Locator Tool or our Personal Mobile Banking App to locate ATMs in the MoneyPass® Network.

A revised Electronic Funds Transfer Disclosure that reflects the upcoming changes to deposits at ATMs was mailed to customers on June 16, 2023.

We appreciate your business and thank you for trusting us with your banking relationship. We look forward to meeting your financial needs for many years to come and invite you to contact your Branch Manager with any questions or concerns.
